Advanced Facilitation Skills

Everyone loves a great meeting, right? What single most important factor ensures organizational meetings are effective, productive, and engaging? Good facilitation. Skilled meeting facilitation creates the framework and provides the processes that ensure group success. When meetings are facilitated well, participant input is drawn out and processed in a way that moves the discussion forward. Participants are given equal opportunity to contribute and communication is open and effective. By thoughtfully designing the meeting as well as managing the way the group works together, a facilitator helps the group accomplish their meeting purpose.

This training will provide managers and leaders an opportunity to enhance their facilitation and meeting management strategies, skills, and tools.

Managing Change and Transition for Leaders

Change is constant; in fact it is the only thing we can really count on. It can be uncomfortable and stressful and it often feels like things get worse before they get better. Change is also filled with opportunity. In learning to deal with organizational change, we first must explore our own feelings about change and understand the difference between change and transition. There are stages we go through in dealing with change, and by learning what those stages are we can better determine what we need to move forward. Additionally, managing change effectively means learning how to focus on what we can control and letting go of what we can’t.

This training will also give organizational leaders the space to explore how to better support your staff and the organizational as a whole.

Constructive Conflict Resolution Introduction

When you hear the word conflict, what comes to mind? Something pleasant? Something you look forward to? Something you can’t wait to engage in? No, probably not. Although most of us don’t particularly like to deal with conflict, it is an inevitable part of being in relationship and interacting with others that can provide a tremendous opportunity for learning and growth. In this training participants will have the opportunity to explore the theory and reality of conflict, gain self-awareness about the five conflict styles and when to best use them, and learn a dialogic, problem-solving, constructive conflict resolution model that includes the use of active listening, non-blaming language, and how to move beyond positions and identify underlying needs.

Effective Workplace Relationships

Effective Workplace Relationships start with effective communication. By learning more about your own workplace communication tendencies, then gaining an understanding about the communication needs of your colleagues, you can enhance your ability to build healthy and collaborative workplace relationships.

This facilitated training uses the Everything DiSC® Workplace Assessment to lead participants through a practical and relevant learning experience. Everything DiSC Workplace is a unique self-assessment that goes one step beyond many similar assessments by helping you understand more than just yourself – this tool gives you insight into how to better understand your colleagues and a way to dialogue about differences in communication needs and preferences. This tool can be used for individuals, pairs, small groups, and teams. Comparison and group reports are also available once participants have completed the assessments.

Presentation Skills for Impact and Engagement

Many studies show that public speaking is the number one fear amongst most people, outranking flying, snakes, insects, and even death. Ironically, it is also one of the skills most necessary for success in the workplace. Whether giving presentations to large groups or small ones, there are skills and techniques you can add to your current toolkit to help make public speaking more enjoyable for you and for your audience. This training includes an overview of adult learning theory best practices as well as topics such as creating and structuring a compelling message, using various types of visual aids, and engaging the audience.
