      • supporting employees’ growth, development, & performance

Adelante Offers:

Strengths-focused manager coaching and dynamic learning experiences.

Strengths-based Coaching for Managers

Managers have a direct impact on the engagement and retention levels of employees. In fact, research shows that managers are primarily responsible for their employees’ engagement levels. As individuals get promoted and reach higher levels of management and leadership, they often have less time to focus on their own development. Investing in the development of managers has a positive organizational-wide impact, including raising managers’ own engagement levels.

Through important learnings from the CliftonStrengths assessment, managers are coached on how to leverage their strengths to become highly effective and masterful managers. Through the coaching experience with adelante, managers at all levels have the opportunity to:

  • To raise their awareness and appreciation of their natural talents and transform them into high performing strengths
  • To study how they might be overusing their strengths and how to use their strengths to manage areas of weakness.
  • To learn how to better support and develop the strengths of their direct reports and teams.
  • To learn effective coaching strategies to bring out the best in their direct reports and successfully navigate performance issues.
  • And much more!

As a leader, supervisor or manager, in what ways can you increase your impact and inspire deeper employee engagement? What tools do you currently use to get the most from your staff while helping them grow? Whether or not coaching is a current tool in your management toolkit, there is always more to explore and learn about effective coaching. This workshop teaches coaching fundamentals that will help you empower others to be even more responsible, accountable and self-motivated. You will be introduced to skills that leave you more effectively able to listen at an engaged level, use inquiry to draw forth best thinking and add value to every conversation, and help you better think about how you approach giving feedback. Advanced training also available.

Giving Effective Feedback Training

This half-day experiential and interactive learning session explores the ins and outs of receiving feedback as a strategy for increasing effectiveness at giving feedback. Managers are provided a framework for how to most effectively give appreciative and developmental feedback and the opportunity to apply that framework to real world situations. One of the most challenging responsibilities of being a manager, feedback can be made much less painful for everyone involved. Through exploring mindset and practicing the framework and skills, this session will help managers at all levels shift how they approach and feel about feedback.

What the Research Says:

• One in two employees have left their job to get away from their manager at some point in their career.

• Nearly two-thirds (61%) of employees who felt they had a supervisor who focused on their strengths or positive characteristics were engaged — twice the average (30%) of U.S. workers who are engaged nationwide. A manager’s approach to strengths has a profound impact on engagement, and that engagement has a profound impact on just about everything that matters to an organization’s long-term viability.

2017 State of the American Manager (Gallup)

• All employees, and especially top performers, want frequent contact with their managers—daily or several times a day in some cases. But this isn’t an invitation to micromanage. Instead, the message for managers is: Be available when employees need information, coaching and advice—the critical elements of performance support.

Towers Watson Research (Society for Human Resource Management)

• 53% of employees rate their relationship with their immediate supervisor as very important to their job satisfaction. Fostering positive relationships encourages constructive dialogue, from exchanging ideas to providing feedback on performance. By strengthening this bond of trust, employees may be more likely to work through and stay committed during difficult times, reducing the chances of voluntary turnover and associated costs.
