When you hear the word conflict, what comes to mind? Something pleasant? Something you look forward to? Something you can’t wait to engage in? No, probably not. Although most of us don’t particularly like to deal with conflict, it is an inevitable part of being in relationship and interacting with others that can provide a tremendous opportunity for learning and growth. In this training you will have the opportunity to explore the theory and reality of conflict, gain selfawareness about the five conflict styles and when to best use them, and learn a dialogic, problem-solving, constructive conflict resolution model that includes the use of active listening, non-blaming language, and how to move beyond positions and identify the underlying needs.
In this two-day training specifically designed for managers and leaders, you will have the opportunity to explore your own conflict resolution challenges and how to best help support your staff through conflict. Additional topics such as the role of emotion and power in conflict situations will be explored.
